The Strand Hotel Winners of 2009 Blackpool Hotel of The Year

VisitBlackpool recognised the best of the best tourism providers in the resort at the Blackpool Tourism Awards 2009.

The competition for this years awards was stronger than ever so to be awarded Hotel of the Year over the following was an immensely proud moment for all the team and reflects the high standards and hard work of all at our hotel. The hotels short listed for Blackpool Hotel of the Year Award were: Big Blue Hotel, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Elgin Hotel, Queens Promenade, Hilton Hotel North Promenade, Liberty's on the Strand, Cocker Square and The Wilton Hotel, Alexandra Road.

Hotels, B&Bs, attractions, venues, restaurants and other tourism providers gathered for a night of celebration, which showcased Blackpool at its best.

Host Sally Lindsay, famous for her role as ‘Shelley’ in Coronation Street and who is currently performing as ‘Helen’ in the 50th Anniversary production of Shelagh Delaney’s A Taste of Honey, presented the awards. She recalled her fondness for Blackpool after visiting with her family as a child before presenting the winners with their trophies and certificates.
